Job description

Join Project Eaden as Fabrication Technician

Climate change is accelerating, with meat production as a major driver. Yet billions of people love eating it, and global consumption continues to rise. At Project Eaden, we believe the solution lies in creating a new generation of delicious, animal-free meat that billions can enjoy—helping save the planet in the process.

If you have hands-on fabrication experience and are passionate about building innovative machinery, this is your chance to apply your technical skills to fabricating revolutionary plant-based food processing equipment. Join us now as we scale operations in a fast-growing, purpose-driven startup.

In this role, you’ll support our mechanical engineering team in fabricating, assembling, and modifying food processing machinery. You'll work closely with mechanical engineers to build custom equipment, prototypes, and components that enable our innovative plant-based meat production operations.

This is more than a job—it’s your opportunity to turn ideas into action and help tackle one of the planet’s most pressing challenges. Let’s build a sustainable future together.

🛠 Key responsibilities

  • Machinery Fabrication: Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and equipment for plant-based food processing according to engineering drawings and specifications. Use various fabrication techniques including welding, machining, and assembly to build custom food processing equipment.

  • Prototype Development: Support mechanical engineers in building and testing prototypes of new food processing concepts. Fabricate prototype components, assist with testing validation, and implement design modifications based on engineering feedback.

  • Equipment Assembly: Assemble mechanical systems including mixers, conveyors, forming machines, and packaging equipment. Install mechanical components, connect systems, and ensure proper alignment and functionality of fabricated equipment.

  • Production Line Maintenance: Carry out mechanical maintenance on production lines according to established maintenance plans and schedules. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and ensure production equipment operates at optimal performance levels.

  • Welding & Joining: Perform welding operations including TIG, MIG, and arc welding to fabricate stainless steel and other food-grade materials. Ensure weld quality meets food safety standards and equipment specifications.

  • Equipment Modification: Modify existing food processing equipment based on engineering specifications and production requirements. Retrofit equipment for new applications and implement design improvements as directed by mechanical engineers.

  • Workshop Maintenance: Maintain fabrication tools, equipment, and workspace in proper working condition. Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and ensure workshop safety standards are maintained.

🧠 Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of fabrication, machining, or mechanical assembly experience, preferably in food processing equipment, manufacturing, or related industrial environments. Experience with custom equipment fabrication preferred.

  • Educational Background: Technical school diploma, apprenticeship completion, or equivalent experience in mechanical fabrication, machining, or related technical field. Welding certification preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with fabrication techniques including welding, machining, and mechanical assembly, experience with machining equipment including lathes, mills, and precision tools, knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation of engineering drawings, understanding of materials including stainless steel and food-grade components, and familiarity with quality control and inspection procedures.

  • Safety & Compliance: Understanding of workshop safety procedures and food industry fabrication requirements. Knowledge of food-grade material handling and sanitary fabrication practices.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Practical problem-solving abilities with hands-on troubleshooting experience. Ability to work with engineering teams to resolve fabrication challenges and implement design solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills for collaborating with mechanical engineers and team members. Ability to understand technical instructions and provide feedback on fabrication processes.

  • Language Proficiency: Basic German language skills required for safety communication and instruction following. English language skills beneficial for technical documentation.

💌 Why you should apply now
