Job description

Join Project Eaden as Procurement manager

Climate change is accelerating, with meat production as a major driver. Yet billions of people love eating it, and global consumption continues to rise. At Project Eaden, we believe the solution lies in creating a new generation of delicious, animal-free meat that billions can enjoy—helping save the planet in the process.

If you have experience in strategic procurement and cost-efficient purchasing, this is your chance to take the next step and take operational responsibility. Join us now as we scale operations in a fast-growing, purpose-driven startup.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing procurement, negotiating contracts with suppliers, purchasing ingredients in a cost-efficient way and stakeholder management - with both, external and internal partners. As the driving force behind key projects, you’ll be responsible for sufficient and efficient ingredient and material supply.

This is more than a job—it’s your opportunity to turn ideas into action and help tackle one of the planet’s most pressing challenges. Let’s build a sustainable future together.

🛠 Key responsibilities

  • Strategic procurement: build and foster supplier relationships and establish long-term supplier management, drive price, contract and delivery condition negotiations, and identify cost optimization opportunities across the supply chain without compromising product quality.

  • Efficient purchasing: use inventory stock data combined with volume demand forecasts to ensure cost-efficient purchasing, optimize purchasing also towards storage capacities and shelf life, and design and implement streamlined purchasing workflows to reduce cycle times and administrative burdens.

  • Interdisciplinary stakeholder engagement: Collaborate closely with internal teams such as product development, production, and finance to facilitate and integrate procurement processes, and work with production teams to align procurement timelines with production schedules and scaling plans.

  • Technology and analytics: leverage data-based analyses to drive strategic procurement decisions. Measure performance, develop KPIs and report frameworks to track procurement effectiveness. Use predictive analytics to anticipate supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations.

🧠 Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of procurement experience with at least 2 years in a strategic procurement role. Experience working with scaling manufacturing operations and managing supply chains during growth phases - ideally in the food manufacturing industry.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Communication skills: Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers. Experience in presenting procurement strategies to executive leadership and diverse stakeholders, and ability to translate technical requirements into clear procurement specifications.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong data interpretation abilities for market analysis and supplier performance evaluation, ability to analyze market trends and anticipate supply chain disruptions.

  • Operational Agility: A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and German, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

💌 Why you should apply now

  • Scaling Big: We’re at an exciting inflection point, transitioning from a pilot phase to scaling operations. Be part of something transformative and build it from the ground up.

  • Top-Tier Backing: We’re supported by world-class VCs and angels who share our vision and believe in our mission.

  • The Time is Now: Food needs a massive transformation. Join us in creating irresistible, sustainable food that inspires billions to switch away from animal-based meat, fast!
