In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our production operations, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, and maintaining the highest quality standards for our innovative plant-based meat products. 🛠 Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling: Developing and implementing production plans to meet demand forecasts and delivery commitments. Coordinating with supply chain, quality, and engineering teams to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety: Ensuring all production activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and internal specifications. Implementing and monitoring HACCP protocols, conducting quality inspections, and managing corrective actions for non-conformities. Maintaining strict hygiene compliance standards and monitoring disinfection procedures in all production areas.
Process Optimization: Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency. Analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks and implementing solutions for operational excellence.
Facility Management: Monitoring preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating with engineering teams on facility issues, and ensuring production facilities operate at optimal performance.
Inventory & Material Management: Managing raw material inventories, coordinating with procurement for material availability, and optimizing inventory turnover while avoiding stockouts.
Safety & Compliance: Maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
Reporting & KPI Management: Tracking and reporting key production metrics including output, efficiency, quality, and safety indicators. Generating regular reports for management and promoting accountability for performance goals.
Team Leadership & Management: Leading and mentoring production teams, conducting daily shift meetings, and ensuring adequate staffing levels. Providing training on food safety protocols, equipment operation, and standard operating procedures.
🧠 Requirements
Professional Experience: 5-7 years of production management experience in food manufacturing, preferably in plant-based foods, processed foods, or related food production environments with demonstrated leadership success.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred, OR equivalent combination of vocational training, master's qualification, and relevant production management experience. Solid foundation in manufacturing processes and food safety principles required.
Technical and Analytical Skills: Expertise in production planning, scheduling, and lean manufacturing principles. Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, FDA, EU food safety standards) and quality management systems. Experience with production management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. Understanding of facility maintenance, process optimization, and continuous improvement methods.
Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Food Safety Certification: Preferred certifications in food safety management (HACCP, SQF, BRC) or willingness to obtain relevant certifications.
Operational Excellence: Results-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and safety. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and German with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
