In this role, you’ll support our automation/electrical engineering team in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and automation systems for food processing machinery. You'll work hands-on with electrical installations, conduct system testing, and ensure reliable operation of our plant-based meat production equipment.

🛠 Key responsibilities
Electrical Installation: Install electrical systems including power distribution, motor control circuits, and control panels for food processing equipment. Wire electrical components, connect systems, and ensure proper electrical connections according to engineering specifications and safety standards.
Automation System Support: Assist with installation and maintenance of automation systems including PLC panels, HMI interfaces, and sensor networks. Connect field devices, run communication cables, and support commissioning of automated food processing systems.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in production equipment including motor failures, sensor issues, and control system malfunctions. Use electrical testing equipment to identify problems and implement repairs to minimize production downtime.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled electrical maintenance on production equipment including motor inspections, electrical connection checks, and control system testing. Maintain electrical components and replace worn parts according to maintenance schedules.
Testing & Commissioning: Conduct electrical testing including continuity checks, insulation testing, and system commissioning. Verify electrical installations meet specifications and safety requirements before equipment operation.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with German electrical safety standards including VDE100, EN 60204-1, and food industry electrical requirements. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain electrical safety practices.
🧠 Requirements
Professional Experience: 3-5 years of electrical technician experience in industrial environments, preferably in food processing, manufacturing, or automated systems. Experience with electrical installation and maintenance work.
Educational Background: Technical school diploma, electrical apprenticeship completion (Ausbildung), or equivalent experience in electrical technology. German electrical qualifications required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with electrical installation including wiring, motor control, and panel assembly, experience with industrial automation systems and PLC hardware, knowledge of electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting procedures, understanding of electrical safety standards and industrial electrical codes, and familiarity with food industry electrical requirements and sanitary electrical installations.
Safety & Compliance: Understanding of German electrical safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures. Knowledge of food industry electrical safety and hygiene requirements.
Problem-Solving Skills: Practical electrical troubleshooting abilities with hands-on problem-solving experience. Ability to work with automation engineers to resolve electrical and control system issues.
Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills for collaborating with automation engineers and production teams. Ability to understand technical instructions and provide feedback on electrical system performance.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in German required for electrical safety communication and compliance documentation. Basic English skills beneficial for technical equipment manuals.
